If you’ve been too busy to start the Christmas shopping or maybe you feel a bit lacking in inspiration, let the Butterfly Loft hosts help out with some suggestions from a selection of gifts produced in this area. As well as buying something thoughtful and unusual, these gifts are all consumable and won’t crowd your house out with yet more “stuff” – plus your choice will also support small British businesses.
For many people, Christmas is a time for relaxing over a glass of something delicious and there are some wonderful locally produced options. It’s fantastic to see traditional products back in force and being given a modern twist.

The Indian Orchard specialise in home-made Indian style pickles, chutneys and treats all based on family recipes passed through the generations. If you like some chutney or pickle with our curry, you will love these. I first came across the products at Winslow Farmers Market and tried the lime pickle. It was superb and I now buy from them regularly. The current range includes: Apple & Ginger Chutney, Apple Chutney (in a choice of Mild, Medium and Hot), Lemon Pickle, Lime Pickle, Garlic and Tamarind Pickle.
There is some fabulous talent right on our doorstep which should lead to some very happy shopping. I’d love to know what you think of my suggestions.
